He says it again, louder, because he thinks he is being asked by a frightened locksmith and because he has said it in eleven shops on this street every Friday since March 1956 and nobody has ever once written it down.  Officer Nordberg is in the back with a transmit key held down by a two-pound weight, and Captain Hocken is in a van at the end of Gulch Street with the whole thing on a wire, and Mr. Halloran's book has been on his own counter, in public, for two and a half years, and every Friday of it says SUNDRIES — 40.00.  You arrest him at ten past four and advise him of his rights in the correct order and in full.  Eleven statements are made in the next nine days. The ninth is Bergman's, who comes back from his sister's in Fresno to make it.  The shop stays open. Police Squad cannot lawfully trade, so the department sells number nine to Mr. Halloran's nephew for a dollar, and the boy keeps the key board alphabetised, and Officer Nordberg still comes on Saturdays to wave at people from the window.  Somewhere behind you Officer Al says something and everybody laughs and everybody freezes, smiling, holding it — except the bell over the door, which is still going.  (+40)"
