He says one thing on the way out and you write that down too, because a man's words are a man's words and they go in the file whether they help or not:  'I lent the key out, Sergeant. I've lent that key out fifty times in eleven years. Ask anybody on that lot who's had it off me.'  It goes in the file, in full, in your own hand. Nobody reads it. He gets nine to fifteen and serves eleven, and Mrs. Cassidy is told who did it, and the Ardmore Street file is closed clean, like every file you have ever closed.  (+20)",
