v5.0 — THE LIVE CRATE
released this
2026-07-17 08:48:22 +02:00 | 46 commits to main since this releaseWalk down Musgrave Road, Red Hill, Brisbane. Monster Robot Party is on your left, because it is
on your left. Go in. The records in the crates are the records in its crates — 120 of them, off
its own till, real covers, real titles, real prices. Buy one and the wallet debits the sticker.
Sell one across the counter in the real shop, and it is gone from the crate in the game. Then kill the server. The game doesn't notice: enter Δ+0ms, worst frame Δ+2ms over a no-network
control, the crate still rendering its own covers from files, the reader asking exactly once and
never again. That is charter law #1 — the server enriches, never gates — as an executable that
kills a real HTTP server mid-session and measures what happens. It is the whole epoch's thesis,
and it is the line A refused to retire from the risk list until this gate went green.Stock is a data tier: parody (always) → static real (files) → live (the till). Each rung fully
playable, each degrading to the one below, none of them a fallback path — the pack was complete
before anything asked the network. 15 stocked shops, 105 pairs, not one shared title. sourcing
real|mint declared on every atlas and printed where a human must clear it, because a mint crate
is plausible, not real, and a tour is where that gets quietly lost. Fifteen licence flags, each
one shown. No in-game purchase touches real inventory: sell-sandboxed by ruling, and every write
verb answers 501 — not a handler declining, no handler at all.AND THE SHOPS FACE THE STREET. Since v1 they had not. Every town, every path: 0 toward, 681
away, dot = -1.0000, a world of back walls that every golden we own was green over. CITY_SPEC
contradicted itself and each generator implemented one half; synthetic looked wrong in exactly
the way nobody looked at. It took B pointing a new helper at a real shop, F's five photographs of
empty ground, and A measuring all three paths instead of assuming one was clean. The covenant
0x3fa36874 -> 0x5f76e76: it never drifted, it was never right, and John ruled what that means —
a covenant is anti-drift machinery, not a defect preservative. A golden proves nothing changed.
It cannot prove anything is correct. Only someone standing in the street looking at the wall can.Five holds across the epoch, and every one was the system refusing to certify what it hadn't
proven: the crate with no street · the gate contradicting a standing ruling · the verdict waiting
on its owner's commit · the rule that outlived its case · the world every gate was green over.Gated: qa.sh --strict --matrix 7/0/0 · MATRIX GREEN 10 towns x 7 gates · selfcheck
156,352/156,352 · the kill-the-server gate · atlas-QA 15/15 with 15 licence lines · ZERO 404s ·
?classic=1 boots the v2 town at 0x5f76e76 — now with its shopfronts facing the road.
